Following yesterdays complete over doing it, we decided to travel the small distance to Pakse (our half way staging post) by local bus. But as nothing here is what it says on the tin, we got dumped 10km from Pakse, with the driver telling us thats as far as he is going today. So we did end up doing the last 10 on bikes, but it was a good downhill road, my type !
Paske is meant to be an old french colonel town, but the only signs of that we saw, was a few kids shouting bonjour instead of hello to us.
Tomorrow is a planned shorter trip 50km down to Champassak on the Mekong River and a visit to Wat Pu, which im banking is one of the highlights of the trip.
