Day 1 - Arrived at Da Nang, Vietnam

What a day, OMG, don't know where to start, but will keep it short. After flying  24 hrs, we finally arrived at our start point, on the east coast of Vietnam, Da Nang. Bike boxes arrived, a little battered, but survived. We had actually seen them briefly in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), and was able to carry out some minor repairs before their final leg To D.N, as it doesnt matter how many times you write fragile or handle with care, they get mis-treated badly.  So then the first real challenge of the tour, assembling the bikes, outside D.N airport in 40d heat. It was like the circus was in town, crowds appearded from everywhere, to watch us struggle, but thanks to the help of the cleaner, tour operator and taxi driver we suceeded and was on our way to Hoi An, 35km down the coast road.

Now  the heat, which is no doubt going to be our biggest challenge, its VERY HOT, and the need to drink fluids is essential, but a litre on average every 5km, wasnt in the script!!  Anyway, we finally arrived in Hoi An, at 4pm exhausted from our 48hr journey, and in desperate need of the swimming pool, followed by shower, eat and bed, no wild night on the town tonight !
